Diamond Lil began combining female impersonation with rock and roll in the 1970s and has continued entertaining Atlanta audiences into 2008. Watch out for one of her shows whenever you're visiting Atlanta. Video by Mister Richardson
@reyvisigodo I remember when I first saw Lil in Sav in the mid eighties & then in Atl in the mid nineties girl we're all getting better with age especially MISS DIAMOND LIL
My, how time flies. I knew Miss Thang when I lived on Morningside Drive in Atlanta. GA. Chuck's Rathskeller, Piedmont Park, The Cove, Miss P's. Oh, the memories, Phillip. Remember the romp on the floor? I was a cute chicken then & still am. Anyhoo, remember the gay wedding we went to & the bride caught the groom kissing another butch hunk & she went crying up the staircase? Who was the friend of yours with the dark goatie? Dropping orange sunshine in Piedmont Park hearing Mark Farmer sing.
The first time I saw Miss Lil was in the late '70's at the Sweet Gum Head, or as Lil called it, "The Tab". I have been a fan of hers since then and have aquired her albums, then the cd's. She is the best at self promotion and merchandising. It is unfortunate she does not perform in Atlanta as much as she used to.
i have loved diamond for the past 40 years. she is the closest thing to the mother of drag in the city of atlanta...some queens have no idea of their roots----watch this and learn bitches!!!!
