Though we compost most of the "waste" that we produce when sprouting, we do send some down the drain. As we have a disposal, we thought we'd share this little warning in the form of this short Public Service Announcement. Better safe than calling a plumber =;-)

  • "...I love 'em, but not 'down there'..."

Tell me that wasn't a little too revealing about your 'relationship' with sprouts... ;)

  • Just pour a little bleach down there. That will kill them

  • Yes they can grow in a disposal. When I moved into my new home, I found the disposal full of live bean sprouts.

  • Whoa, thanks for the warning. We don't have a disposal, but I still don't want sprouts invading the kitchen from the sink. You should write a book akin to "George and the Giant Peach".

Call it "Chester and the Sprout Monster".
