I first heard of Cathie after a trip to Ireland. I stayed in Dromoland Castle and a young woman named Katie Purcell (herself a wonderful talent) played in the lounge. She sang Slan Abhaile, and suggested to my girlfriend and I that we listen to Cathie. That was 1997, and I've loved Cathie Ryan ever since.
