Get the complete story on the Fiat 500C at TheAutoChannel.com. Unveiled to the world for the first time at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show, the new Fiat 500C pays homage to the original 1957 Fiat 500 and its fabric roof, but also offers innovative solutions in terms of mechanical design, engines and comfort. In Italy, the public will be able to take it for a test drive from July 4, the birthday of the Fiat 500 and exactly two years after the launch of the model.
I bought the diesel 1,3 multijet 500c , two weeks ago. It's fantastic!

Much better looking than a Smart Car, which actually isn't saying much. I hope for Fiat's sake that if they re-enter the US market, the quality of their cars is vastly better than when they sold here before. Abarth version anyone?

I like it, the car is really attractive. The firs two posters have a point, though.

I think this car will sell good, but not great in the US. The microcar will sell well in more urban areas like NYC where cars haven't always been practical for the average person. However, as a whole nation, microcars won't do so well. America, unlike Europe, is a car culture. In other countries, the car is an appliance. In the US, it is much more. Besides, in a landscape dominated by SUVs and vans, a microcar would be a bit unsettling to drive.

The 500C looks at home in the Commuter market, but I have to drive one to be absolutely sure about it. I am not all that sure about FIAT stepping into the injured American Auto Market. I wish them luck though...
