XENIA - Residents of Hospitality Home East on N. Monroe St. in Xenia got a special treat on Saturday evening when The Brothers & Co. Entertainers dropped in at 7 p.m. for a surprise performance. Hospitality resident Mrs. Lois Deer of Jamestown is the mother of Brothers & Co. leader and pianist Gery L. Deer and the bands drummer and lead singer, Gary Deer Jr., also of Jamestown. Mrs. Deers nephew Ed Jones is also in the group along with family friend Jim Karns. The Boys in Black came aboard their tour bus Noahs Ark to entertain Mrs. Deer on her 76th birthday and provide some music and magic for the other residents as well. In addition to her musical sons, Mrs. Deer, enjoyed her birthday with her husband Gary, Sr., and daughter Cathy Wolf as well as other family and friends. We wanted to do whatever we could to be here and play for my mothers birthday, said Gery L. Deer. She has been the focus of our family band for 14 years. Mrs. Deer is suffering from Alzheimers disease and recently recovered from pneumonia following a broken hip. In addition to her sons, the Brothers & Co. Entertainers was started by Lois brothers Gary Sutton and William Sutton back in 1995. Even through her illness she has always accompanied the group on the bus to shows and events.
I can't wait for this Flatt & Scrubbs song to come out on 8-track. ROFL
