I hope you realize that the police are civilians.If you do support the Police having guns, you think that waiting 15 minutes (or more) for someone to show up with a gun is ideal? People are beaten,raped and murdered in that time.Citizens have stopped many attacks,without having to fire a shot. The sight of a gun stops attacks, saving lives.but you are against that? You want only criminals to have guns? Asking, not putting words in your mouth

Obviously you've never been in a school Zone in the U.S if you believe people don't text and drive simply because its "illegal". I can't speak for all "republicans" but I believe an armed Officer on school campuses is a good thing. When it comes down to dealing with an armed assailant you had better hope there is someone around who can do more than call 911.

Thats an inaccurate statistic the U.S has a far larger overall population than the U.K. if you break down the populations of the U.K and the U.S into 100,000 increments you'll find the U.S has a homicide rate of 7.5 homicides for every 100,000 people the U.K is 7.3

Wikipedia says last years homicide rate for the US was 4 times higher than the UK.

Deaths from accidental discharge are rare and easily avoided, Your argument is flawed based on the fact that You Can Not legislate stupidity. Texting and driving kills more people than firearm accidents Hell medical malpractice ends more lives than rifles
