After nearly four years of dialogue with the FAA regarding pending safety regulations for model aviation, the 2012 AMA Expo featured an open discussion forum January 7 between AMA leadership, FAA representatives and AMA members on this subject. You are also encouraged to visit www.modelaircraft.org/gov to read about the latest developments and AMA's ongoing effort to protect and preserve model aviation.
Grow some and tell the FAA to piss off. It's not up to us (AMA) to come up with "enhanced safety techniques". 2:00 It's up the gov't to prove to us that we need to. By coming up with these enhanced safety techniques, in a way it's admitting to some pseudo guilt placed on us by the FAA. Pure crap.

Heaven forbid they hire someone like Sean McMurtry as a consultant. Instead appoint Spencer to head up the UAP. She has a book with inaccurate information. Don't expect much from her. She seems really impressed with gliders!

This talk was a little too long winded for me, is there a link to the proposed restrictions that I need to deal with?

There was disussion pertaining to certian issues where the AMA and FAA did not agree. I would have liked to hear more about some of those points of contention. Those issues could have possibly given us a more in-depth understanding on what the FAA was trying to do here.
I would like to thank the AMA for all their hard work and for keeping us up to date on this matter.

Two people... telling 200,000 people what they can and can't do. Why are we afraid of their silly regulation. They should be afraid of us.
