  • I FUCKING LOVE MUSTANGS

  • That's an interesting comment, and it explains why today's TV ads are so forgettable and hard to remember. For instance, if you did the "Coppertone Quick Tan" ad or a "Things Go Better with Coke" ad today, you couldn't show a bunch of white people having a good time. You'd have to make it into some kind of bland multicultural thing which would turn it into a really boring ad.

  • Damn! Ford mustang has a song!!

  • My 14 year old son showed me this commercial and he said it made him feel all warm and fuzzy, his cousins who are around the same age said that it was corny and stupid. It concerns me that kids today are being taught that it is bad to feel good, they are bombarded by ads and movies that tell them that they are destroying the planet, they are to fat and that America is a horrable country. Parents need to teach kids that facisim is wrong and that it's ok to think for yourself and to feel good.

  • I think the use of the chauffeur is because Bruce Lee had a very popular TV series back then called The Green Hornet in which he played a chauffeur. This guy is dressed exactly as Lee and even walks like he did in the series. And they show him smoking!! in a commercial, these days thats a capital crime punishable by death isn't it? This was a great ad, I remember it well when it was new and on TV night after night. What a great country we had then, gas was .25 cents a gallon for regular.

  • I'm old enough to remember this ad on TV, we thought 'it' would never end. And 'it' was life in America the way it was and should always be. Those of you that are much younger don't understand what you've lost, what has been stolen from you. Those days like America won't be back unless you fight very hard to get it back. This and the Dodge sheriff commercials during 1970 were GREAT, and I miss them and I miss my country. The politicians, political correctness, big brother have stolen America.

  • why this commercial is banned???

  • @amsneets1

So true, the country is almost a third world country now, and it is probably too late to save it.

  • Great old commercial from the "Mad Men" and a simpler time when we were at the peak of our industrial output, space was the "final frontier" and the endless optimism for a better tomorrow still ruled.

  • @428sj it would have been hell.

  • How much did a 3-minute commercial cost in those days?

How much would the same cost about now?
