The blue variant of D. auratus, also known as auratus "calobre". Here you see the female feeding on drosophila - listen well you will hear the male call in the background. Females of D. auratus are always less shy than males! I reckon this is because they have to feed much more for egg production.

They aren't in a tank. but in nature they are only slightly venomous when they feel scared(which will make you a little bit ill).

very nice auratus, indeed! i should be getting my first auratus in less than a week. the group is 0.0.4, and they are costa rican green & blacks... also grabbing a 0.0.4 of D. leucomelas 'nominate' as well, so the next weekend should be really fun! i already keep various hylids, rhacs, and bufos... along with other dendrobatids like D. azureus [now concidered a morph of D. tinctorius, of course], and D. tinctorius [surinam cobalt.]
