Hey thx for your videos.. Ive always wanted to see the inside of a compressor, especially while its powered up! Too Bad there is no way of safely leaving it on.. keep up the vid's!

"hes to much of a pussy to leave it on so he has to turn it on and off lol "
I agree with saying that, contrary to what you guys are saying. He could turn it on/ off remotely. He could also make a MythBusters Type Shield. Plenty of reasons to leave it on.

@Mooseguy15 1:to demonstrate how the cycle works 2:the rotor could fly off and injure him or damage property.Think before you talk.

@picmario Diplom Engineer, Luft Kompressor, 1984 onwards has been my job, BTW. My German is terrible, your English is much better than my German any day! LOL
-
@picmario BTW, Kaeser is a German concern, Boge is as well. If you say Atlas Copco is not found in Germany YOU AREN'T LOOKING! The first commercially produced Lysholm Screw (dry) compressors sold from the ZR line were put into a Brewery in Germany, and were replaced in 1994 with ZR110 models when Atlas Copco redesigned the ZR Compression Element that year. They took the originals (with over 100,000 hours on them) and put them in a museum. Atlas Copco markets the Iwata Scroll in Germany as well!

@picmario i AM SURE THAT THE WONDERFUL PEOPLE AT BOGE WILL LOVE TO KNOW THEY HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO BRAND RECOGNITION AT HOME!
And Boge sells piston, screw and CENTRIFUGAL compressors. Demag is one of the largeset Centrifugal compressor groups around, and let's not forget GHH Rand in Oberhausen... Methinks you don't know luftkompressoren very well at all. A blower is just a low pressure compressor. Usually restricted to a pressure ratio of less than 3:1. Call me "Richtmeister" some call me Luftzow!

@picmario One other mention, if you think the G-Lader on the VW is 'huge' you REALLY need to get out into the compressor world. This Coppeland Scroll is referred to as a 'Micro Unit' due to it's small size. Iwata's standard offering is roughly 30CM in diameter, and MSK's is even larger. "Huge" that's a good one. What would you characterize the compressors I work on then, in the range of 1100 to 16,000KW range in size...What's "Huge" in your book, as most G-Laders and Scrolls are small HP sizes!
-
@picmario Yes, and the Kaeser Sigma Profile is a patented differentiation of the original Lysholm Screw Patent, as is Atlas Copco's and Ingersoll-Rand's and blah blah blah... A Scroll is a Scroll. The SCROLL came first, and the G-Lader, as much as someone wants to hype it is simply a DERIVATION. You obviously have NEVER seen the scrolls I have mentioned (Iwata in particular) as they are NOT STEEL, but light alloy. Compression ratio is simply a manipulation of the scroll orbit. This is a scroll!

The scroll compressor has been extensively developed for Air Usage in Japan by Iwata and Mitsui Seiki. Iwata uses an oil-free design, while MSK runs it as an oil flooded unit. Of course refregeration has used them in smaller applications for years. If they are oil flooded (Refrigeration and MSK for Air) they are VERY quiet. A lot of Dental Offices use them. The Iwata units are well below 70db in operation. Of course the Germans will come up with their own name. They usually do!
