http://www.SongOfTheRose.co.uk The most famous lute piece of all time, and justifiably so.

  • This is one of the very best interpretations of this immortal piece. Holy fuck man!

  • The tablature makes my head explode! I am practising this using a classical guitar sheet music using F# tuning so I guess the fingering is quite similar.

    That's nice to hear :-)

  • Rob, I have used this tune in lessons :) I like to have a little something on whilst students do tasks in my library classes. This always goes down well :)

This is Rob MacKillop answering from another channel. I actually used what was an 11c but tuned as a 10c. Aquila gut strings. The 11c is based on a Renaissance lute body by Maler.

  • On which lute are you playing this? Renaissance 8 course, 7 or more? Very moving and very mellow. Is it Gut on the trebles?

  • Utterly hauntingly beautiful, thank you for posting such a wonderful rendition.

  • Marvelous. Five stars and more. Now how am I supposed to switch gears and construct syllabi for the coming semester?

  • ...doth ravish human sense...

  • this was beautiful. thank you
