And we are proud of all of them !
Not because they were there. But because they were soldiers, and they did as soldier should to do. That is the order.
And what about Irag- my friend was there because he has a little doughter, and he need money to rise up his doughter, that's why he, and other ukr.soldiers were there.

Guys! Calm down!
Ukrainian forces were in Iraq - true.
Ukrainian forces were under peacekeeping mandate - true.
Ukrainian forces were spreading the humanitarian aid to civilians, healing wounded and making some battle-unrelated actions - that's all. A true peacekeeping - nothing more.
Stop raging at each other please.

@sirokko090 Yu've no right to say peacekeeping that is US invasion for Iraqs gas open your eyes

yes, wtf????

Даже рожки забрали когда Ющенко приезжал ))))) LOL!!!!!!!!!
peacekeepers? LOL, get some info first. UN didn't send no peacekeepers to Iraq. Ukrainians in Iraq were part of invasion forces (Multi-National Force – Iraq), same as USA, Britain, Poland, Italy, and so on. The only reason you believe they were peacekeepers is ukrainian mass media, who claimed it that way,

@negovany Yeah peacekeepers, and UN is not the only organisation which can issue a mandate, duh. Ukrainian units did not participate in invasion, well, maybe only 19th NBC battalion, which was only stationed in the Kuwait just in case. 5th brigade which arrived later was doing peacekeeping duties, EOD, reconstruction, med, and patrols and they had shit RoE, which did not allow them to engage the enemy as other coalition forces. Things changed for the 6th and then 7th brigade.

@sirokko090 Didn't 6th brigade deal with insurgency? Did they try to dissarm NATO forces? weren't they part of MND-CS, and under direct command from NATO CO's? Than it's not peacekeeping as the term meant to be, it's being part of invasion forces. Don't please get me wrong, I have nothing against ukrainian troops.
negovany 1 year ago
@negovany Yeah, they had to deal with insurgency, with uprising to be precise. But, they still were under different RoE than the rest. Although they were part of the MNF, all missions and tasks had to be reviewed by the Ukrainian MOD, even on tactical level - which is inefficient. In the zone of responsibility of the UKR troops things were pretty good, our guys treated Iraqis, their culture, religion with respect and until Muhdi uprising things weren't too bad at all. But war is war dude.

When Ukraine was part of CCCP they did not went to Afganistan , what they are doing in IRAQ ...
WHat are you doing in Iraq Ukranian people , Is this your war against IRAQI people WAR based on Lies.
aviomaster 1 year ago 2
@aviomaster
Ukrainians were in Afghanistan, USSR wasnt asking if they want to. Majority left Iraq few years ago. Initially Ukrainian troops operated under the peacekeeping mandate, but during the Mahdi uprising they were being attacked constantly (although the Ukrainian contingent did loads for Iraqi people and treated their culture with respect), and as a result subsequent rotations were forced to adopt more direct tactics.
