Arctic Sea Ice Maximum 2009

The 2009 Arctic sea ice maximum extent has just been reached. This is a measurement of the amount of sea ice covering the Arctic at the end of each winter. For the past several decades the maximum Arctic ice extent has been declining. Scientists monitor this vital element of our planet from space with a variety of different spacecraft that make global measurements in remote and treacherous locations not easily accessible from the ground.

So the arctic sea ice retreats, and the arctic gets warmer.. light and warmth gets to a region too dark, cold and hostile to support life.

Er wouldn't this cause life there to flourish?

Its like rising c02 levels and a warmer climate... trees feed on c02, warmth and light.

Certain species will die out some will thrive and this has happened over and over in earths history.

Granted we are rocking the boat but by no means will we be able to sink it.

More likely we'll just fall out the damn boat.

...global warming is natural; it is caused by SUN SPOTS...

To pass from 280 ppm CO2 in Pre-Industrial Era to almost 400 ppm CO2 today doesn't mean nothing for you? And what about other kind of gases, with even more higher contribution to Global Warming?

the Ice is coming back in 2010.

Global warming is true - it has happened before...

...but it is caused by an abundance of sun spots...NOT MANKIND.

although co2 emissions are still toxic to our health, they are not the cause of this warming period...

and Gore knows that, but how else can the NWO control all the resources if not blaming man for this problem which, ultimately, will come to an end when the sun spots diminish in numbers????

Sea ice in the Arctic is reaching dramatic record lows  There are other components of the cryosphere that we can look at as well, permafrost, the Greenland ice sheet, global glacier mass, and these all carry the Global Warming signal.

One must look at the balance of evidence, not just those bits one likes. And this balance is clearly in agreement with all other indicators that warming is real and rapid.

okay , so the ice cap is melting but maybe this is a normal process. the earth has been around for a long time and I am sure it has changed remarkably over it's history. The question is what kind of effect will this change have on the planets ecosystem
