Corel Video Studio Pro X2

Proxy files are lower resolution working copies of video files. They are reduced in resolution or compression bit rate for only one reason -- to speed up editing of high definition files such as HDV, AVCHD, etc The main purpose of this feature is to have a more efficient editing experience by making smaller proxy files out of large videos.Smart Proxy can also be used in other video file formats and is not limited to HDV files only

When you edit and preview your project in Instant Play mode, proxy files will be used as substitutes for their large video source counterparts. Whereas when you preview your project in high-quality playback mode or when you render a video file, the original video source files will be used.

In the case of HDV files, Smart Proxy is automatically activated during capture and use of HDV files in your project. Please watch in HD

  • is it free????

  • Is what free?

  • Great tutorial! I have a quick question. Would enabling smart proxy help the audio? I burned avi to wmv and asked technical support why the audio was choppy and this is what he told me to do. But viewing your video confuses me now. Great tutorial btw, but from what i gather, it only helps with editing speed? Am I mistaken?

  • Thanks, the smart proxy only helps with editing speed if your pc isn't quite up to scratch, it's great for editing HD. I'm not sure why your audio is choppy though this has nothing to do with the smart proxy feature. When you capture your video (I think you use mini-dv because you use AVI, but correct me if I'm wrong!) do you have dropped frames? This can effect the audio. Does your audio sound ok when it is on the video track?

  • Hi, can i burn HD footage to a DVD? how? i have the same software and trying to make a dvd from Kodak zi8 footage. appreciate your input.

  • If you are using the dvd in a normal dvd player it won't play in HD, you have to down convert to standard definition. You can burn hd to a dvd but the folder structure has to be correct and it will only play on a Blue-Ray player that supports AVCHD DVD

  • cann u send me thiis software?? (mediafire) iif u will lemii no:)

  • What is the rockin music here?.....Anyone know the artist?

  • @guymac70 I disagree on the commentary. Love the music. I hit the start/stop button to see what he writes. Besides, a lot of commentaries are not very well rehearsed and do not convey the meaning well. They raise more questions than they answer.

  • not good program why heavy my pc 1gb ram.... :(
