In the early 1990s Northern Ireland spiraled ever closer to a violent civil war. Every time the IRA murdered a protestant the Loyalist paramilitary groups responded in similar fashion. The tit-for-tat killings - started and escalated by the IRA - were leaving scores of people dead every year.
On 17th January 1992 the IRA slaughtered eight entirely innocent protestant civilians in a bombing at the Teebane crossroads in County Tyrone. Reprisal attacks were inevitable.
A few weeks later two Loyalist commandos from the Ulster Freedom Fighters entered the Sean Graham bookmakers shop in the lower Ormeau area of south Belfast - a hotbed of IRA activity.
The bookmakers shop was frequented by many senior IRA members - including some of the wicked and evil pro-IRA Clinton family from the area.
Within a few minutes five people were dead and the Loyalists had exacted their revenge for the sectarian slaughter of eight protestant civilians in Teebane a few weeks previous.
