Does this work for 10inch speakers from a peavey?

i did that to my dad and scared the crap out of him be holding my electro voice 18 inch woofer and using a 9 volt when he wasnt expecting it, now the woofer is reconed and in its proper place, in my ev eleminator bass bin

It does not matter what size speaker it is. The 9 volts works for all sizes. In fact, it is ok to use a 1.5 volt size (D) cell, except that the coil will just have less motion.
