Windows 8 Tablet Demo at CES 2012

In this live video from CES 2012 I give a demo of Windows 8 running on a Samsung Series 7 Core i5 Windows 8 tablet as well as an Intel Atom 32nm SoC tablet. You can see a demo of the multitasking, Metro UI, classic Windows 7, performance and side by side applications running.

  • window 8 looks really ugly

  • Fuck you Microsoft, I need a tablet for Uni thanks to laptop batteries sucking, and you are the reason I will never bring my self to buying an Android tablet. HURRY UP AND RELEASE.

  • @WhyohWhyTv MS used to do that but with Win 8 the goal is to have just one OS or UI and the same apps run on as many devices as possible. Windows on ARM is near identical to Win 8 on x86 apart from desktop software. With the Metro UI as well, all MS products, including their sites and Xbox are starting to use it. I think it's only a matter of time before Apple copy Microsoft by having one OS or UI that runs on touch screens and desktop PC's (but as usual Apple will act like they did it first).

  • @YouAreThick True, they will have a heads up, but I have the feeling that this company likes to 'chop' things into smaller parts , so they can increase their income. I believe their strategy is not like apple's. They will probably unite everything under 'windows live' but maybe have different app stores. Major copycats by the way, but at least they are moving towards people's demands and habbits (appstore, android market). The OS looks great so far, let's wait and see..

  • "de one here ad de boddom" = Indian.

  • @WhyohWhyTv Theres already a 3rd Microsoft OS for phones... Windows Phone 7 ;) In the upcoming Windows Phone 8 it's looking like it will be based on the core of Windows 8, but it will still basically look and feel like Windows Phone 7. Both ARM and x86 Win8 can already run the same Metro apps, so maybe WP8 will also run these apps. Would give MS a big advantage if all their OS's could run the same apps.

  • @YouAreThick exactly. If you watch the windows 8 keynote for developers, they clearly say that ONE united version will be able to run from smartphones to computers, making the life of the developers easier. But somewhere in the way, they figured out that this is impossible, so they changed it to TWO categories (Arm, x86). Be sure that Microsoft will add a THIRD category just for smartphones, and in the end nothing will change as dramatically as they claim...
