  • Yes, although very different looking now, you would still easily recognize the Bottoms in Covington. You should visit there sometime.

  • Is there anything on the building used in the show saying what they were used for?

  • No, none of any of the buildings are currently marked with any markers. At the welcome center you can pick up a visitor's brochure/guide in order to locate the buildings that were used as filming locations. Most of everything is within walking distance throughout the downtown area, with the exception of the school.

  • Yes The FICTIONAL Name of the town was SPARTA,Miss during all the episodes, However the names of the locations of the filming in ITHOFN was NOT sparta in real life

  • I'm sorry, I thought you meant that the original fictional name of the town in which the series was based changed somewhere along the line of filming. Even the original movie featured the name of SPARTA, MISSISSIPPI. Although there is in fact a Sparta, Ga and a Sparta, MS none of these locations where actually chosen. When you're done in those woods, Lousianna and Mississippi starts to look the same, trust me.

  • I believe the Series Started out in Mississipi somewhere but the name of the town WASNT Sparta, then they moved it to Covington Ga for the rest of the series

  • The first season of In The Heat...was filmed on location in Hammond, Lousianna. Due to conflicts between Carroll and the first excecutive producer, the set was moved to Covington, Ga. were all subsequent seasons were filmed. Yes, the name of the town was always called SPARTA.

  • This is the same places season 1 of the Dukes of Hazzard was filmed.

  • @aceofspades358 Or you for real? Do you not look at your buildings? Waste of time on this one>

  • I think it's neat to live here. They're also taping "The Vampire Diaries" here as well as another movie.

  • Covington is also the Original Hazzard. The Courthouse was Boss Hoggs office and Police Station.
