My sweet baby boy is suffering with muscle pain. These movements have been changing and getting worse by the week. They started when he was a baby and in the last several months have taken over his life and ours. In this video he is supposed to be eating lunch but can't stop doing this. We have to feed him most of his meals. He does this when he wakes and keeps having episodes all day. He met all if his milestones and has no delays. His sister has Aspergers but the neurologist says we are dealing with a movement disorder. He's just not sure what is triggering it. He's running lots of tests. If you listen closely you may hear his breathing and finger grinding.

  • hello, my son has similar abnormal movements (and others) which are taking over his life and causing severe sleep deprivation. neurologists have done several tests, a few have come back abnormal, however they still haven't given him a diagnosis.I was wondering which test showed gross motor seizures in your son? was it EEG? my son has had a few EEG's which were mostly normal.Just wondering if it was EEG or some other test? I hope your son is doing ok.

  • @sarshawil Im very sorry that your son is having a hard time also. How old is he may I ask? My baby is now almost 5 and it hasnt gotten any better. We did have the EEG but it showed normal activity. Now that he is a bit older, he is able to tell us what is happening to him during these episodes. It blocks out the "world" so he can create stories in his head. (This is his explination) He was diagnosed with Aspergers last year. We have learned to deal with it knowing that he is safe. Best Wishes

  • My son , 5 years, does the same thing. Same, same. Did you find out what it is? It may be Tourette syndrome?

  • @simolino2002 The doctors are saying that they are called gross motor seizures. He has been diagnosed with Aspergers so far but they said they may be adding Tourettes in the next year. I have a million questions for you too and would love to chat about our boys.

  • Thank you so much for your reply. He is 3 and can't tell me whats happening but seems to go into his own world too.Can I ask, are his episodes worse when he is not occupied? and is he overactive? for my son they tend to be worse when he is not engaged in activity. He is also hyperactive. His sister has Aspergers but the Dr doesn't think its Aspergers because his MRI,PET scan and blood tests all show subtle abnormalities and he has chronic low platelets. Thanks again and best wishes with your son.

  • his breathing like that because hes constricting all of his muscles while holding his breath.

  • Hi my name is blas garcia. i suffer with similar tics i remember them starting when i was about 5. when i would get excited iwould shake my hands. my mom would smack me and say stop it people are going to think you are crazy. i learned to control it a little better it usually begins with excitement or happiness and then i begin to imagine things and i go off in to my own world usually i can feel when its coming on and i can controll it.

  • My son had a similar finger tic for 3 1/2 years before he was properly diagnosed with PANDAS/PITANDS about a year ago. He has been treated with an antibiotic since his diagnosis, and his tic has subsided by about 85 to 90%. I would suggest googling PANDAS/PITANDS symptoms to see if anything else lines up with your son. If so, please contact a doctor who specializes in this area for testing....ours is Dr. Trifiletti in NJ. All the best to you...

  • Im 16, & ive been going through this all my life, its been pretty embarrassing, specially in school because kids would make fun of me. it usually happens when im happy or get excited. :/

  • I too would like. I have another child who has nothing. Next week I will go to Milan to make a diagnosis, to determine if tourrette. My child has always had from a very small motor tics in her hands. Last year he also started with the face and eyes, the same as yours. Perfectly identical. Elettoencefalogramma did and found negative. Can you give me your e-mail?
