My cousin LOVES her tummy time. She squeals and coo's when she gets it. My son however at 3 months still HATES tummy time. He cries until it's over. He was born a month early though so I was told to think of him at the 2 month level not 3. He can sometimes lift his upper half but mostly just turns his head side to side. Is this normal?

yeah. this is what my son does too. then I learned I can't just flop him on his belly and leave him. He's got to be entertained, distracted and it needs to be fun. This sucks for them! We put him on our chest, belly and now get down on his level. We only do it if he's got the energy and hasn't just eaten. BIG difference, and he's actually beginning to enjoy it for longer and longer.

@missdebrafox Yeah, he was about exactly 8 weeks in this video, by the time he was about 15 weeks he had learned to flip over when I did this and then refused to have tummy time. I was told if he didn't get tummy time it would be bad for his development, but he was fine. He sat up, crawled and walked early, so it obviously didn't impact him any... Babies really hate tummy time, I have yet to see one that likes tummy time.
