Trains in Chicago: CTA trains on "The Loop" in downtown Chicago and METRA double stack commuter trains with F 40 PH diesel locomotives near the central station. Spring 2007
************
Der "Loop" ist eine große Kehrschleife im Zentrum von Chicago, quasi eine Art Ringbahn. Plus: Ein paar Metra Nahverkehrs-Doppelstockzüge von/zur Central Station.

  • I love taking train it fun alot female on. The train :-)

  • when I was a kid in the 1940s, I rode the 'el' all over the place...fare was 4 cents so a real bargain :)

  • Yep, it's the Merchandise Mart, designed by Graham, Anderson, Probst & White. They also designed the Wrigley Buildin, the Civic Opera House, and other important Chicago buildings.

As ChicaGoes says, it's still the largest commercial building in the world (having been built in the early 1930's). It's the second largest building in the world; only the Pentagon is bigger.

  • Chicago is a great city!

  • I believe you are referring to the Merchandise Mart, the worlds largest commercial building.

  • I pay the $75 dollar a month for unlimited use for the CTA. that is 24 hours available to use all the time. To me that is a great deal. That's gas money alone if i were to own a car.

  • Great video! You took the time to scout out the great railroad watcher sites.

  • I live in chicago and i ride the l everyday to work its fun

  • What is that massive building in the background as the train crosses the bridge?
