American Akitas are mixed breeds, with St Bernard and Tosa inu in them as well as some lines with German Shepard so I would imagine these would influence the coat slightly.

Where did those akita inus come from? they are beautiful! Nicest akitas I've ever seen, I like them much better than the American akitas
