The best way I found is to smash all the blocks in the left-most column, and leave 2 blocks untouched in the middle column. After that, you can choose to smash 2 or 4 blocks in the right-most column, but the process is essentially the same following.
To make the jump that's impossible by conventional means, you must use the Ride Armor to Dash-Jump up there. When the hover activates, do not press and hold. Rapidly press the jump button, and you'll gain elevation!

I finally managed to do it after all this time, actually.
It's a simple process, really.
After you take the Ride Armor and fall into the spike-pit, disembark and continue to the area where the block falls towards you, immediately following. Escaping it frees the Ride Armor from the spike-pit.
In the following area, you'll reach a dead-end with three columns of blocks that can only be smashed by the Ride Armor.
