This was on PC-Engine CD, which was the japanese version of the TurboGrafx CD.

Yeah, but it had sequels on multiple platforms. The first three were released for PC Engine, the fourth was released for PS1/Saturn, the fifth was a weird spinoff for Wonderswan, and the latest is for PS2.
