The water proof is meant to protect against accidents, like dropping it in a fountain or heaven forbid the toilet. I don't think Sony intends for you to be swimming with your phone idiot.

My mate put his in the sink at work the day after he bought it saying its waterproof but the water 2 weeks later the speaker broke on it epic fail.

My true sony experience started with a simple £10 set of earphones from 4 years ago which blew my mind, then a PS3, Sony headphones, TV and soon this... Everything this company create (regardless of which division it comes from) is brilliant. Expert craftsmanship and dedication to the consumer. They are the Bethesda of the hardware world... Never step away from this mindset sony... you have loyal fans.. and always will. I salute you!
