@alwaysopen no, I have not had a chance to see him live but I have enjoyed some of his excellent playing and great songwriting..glad I am not the only one to look strange as playing...lol...peace

Have you ever seen Robin Trower live? I have a really good live show on DVD. Someone has posted clips of it on YT. He makes some really bizarre faces as he is talking the notes through.

@alwaysopen all the ear training and sight singing has an impact but I do think I can look a little funny at times....typically I am singing the line in my head and my mouth starts to articulate the type of sound I want...if you listen to some of Oscar Peterson recordings you can hear him sing in the background...the voice is the deepest connection to the music inside each of us

If you have played guitar for any length of time you will do that when playing solos as it is like talking.

@slobes I find that problem to be most disconcerting when I am not playing guitar.
