If Louis Armstrong sang cleverly insane songs like this when he was alive -- he would be Tom Waits' father. And yes, Howlin' Wolf comes in a close second. George Carlin was wrong, a white man CAN sing the blues. Tom Waits is that man.....there are others....but it all starts and ends with Waits.

Well he's been completely sober since the 90's and quit smoking in the 80's.
