Gretchen Carlson & Shandi Finnessey on FOX News, May 11, 2010

Fox News' Gretchen Carlson, Miss America 1989, interviews Shandi Finnessey, Miss USA 2004 about the photo shoot controversy surrounding the 2010 Miss USA contestants, as well as the differences between the two pageants.

**One note on a comment made by Finnessey -- she stated that the Miss America pageant was without a broadcast outlet for the first time in many years, which Carlson seemed to indicate was incorrect. As it turns out, Finnessey was right at the time... As of May 11th, during this segment, the Miss America program had been dropped earlier this year by the TLC cable network after a brief run. Thirteen days later, on May 24th, the ABC network announced a deal to broadcast Miss America, the first time it has aired on network TV in several years.

Either Carlson was being overly defensive about her former pageant, or she
possibly had some inside knowledge of the upcoming TV deal.

Miss America doesn't have a network? It was aired on CMT!  How is that not a network? Well, regardless, it has gone downhill in recent years, and taking it out of Atlantic City was a big mistake.

ABC's first broadcast of the show is coming up on Saturday, January 15th.... still will be in Las Vegas, though.

Let's not forget that Donald Trump actually built an entire auditorium and set up a program for the Miss America Organization and after spending millions of dollars for them, they burned him and sent him packing which is why they moved from Atlantic City. Donald Trump is not a favorite of mine, but he takes the pageant industry very seriously and understands how it can change lives, not to mention the girls even at a state level are promoting established charities, raising millions each year.

The difference between Miss USA and Miss America are Miss USA's are HOT!!! Looks like Gretchen is jealous because well Miss Americas like her aren't very pretty while SHANDI is GORGOUS!!!!!
