The year 2009 marks a series of significant milestones for the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement:

- the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Solferino

- the 90th anniversary of the founding of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC)

- the 60th anniversary of the Geneva Conventions

To mark these anniversaries, and to profile the Movement, a three-year Red Cross and Red Crescent global campaign will be launched on 5 December, 2008. The campaign is meant as a call to action, to persuade people from all walks of life to engage in humanitarian action, under a simple, compelling slogan: Our world. Your move.

The "Our world. Your move." campaign is jointly led by the International Federation and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). The time for action is now. This is a campaign that calls upon the power of all people to believe in humanity. It is our world, we need to move it together.

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies is the world's largest humanitarian organization, with 185 member National Societies. All our work is guided by seven fundamental principles; humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality.

  • Hemp could provide food, shelter, clothing, and fuel for all third world countries.

Big companies want cannabis/hemp to remain illegal because they know it could replace cotton, oil, and lumber.
