That might be true but with another character bearing a similar name from Contra Hard Corps, it can't be just a coincidence anymore.

Bahamut in Uprising was never stated to be Bahamut in Contra Hard Corps, the producers even said it could be a different one.

Did you know that the doctor you save in Uprising (in the stage that starts off in a very Metal Gear Solid style) is the same doctor from Contra Hard Corps? Geo Mandrake, who helps Bahamut steal the Alien Cell kept in a high security lab. The paragraph that can be read before the start of that stage in Uprising states that Mandrake is a close ally of Bahamut and was his mole/spy inside Tiberius' army, quite similar to what he does later on in Contra Hard Corps, ''working'' for the government!

Another proof to the idea is that Lance Bean himself creates his own organization called ''Blood Falcon'' and rallies troops to fight for his cause: the overthrowing of the Triumvirate. What Lance Bean shares with Bahamut is that, other than the fact that they both were legendary heroes who turned ''bad'', they both willingly fused at some point with remnants of Red Falcon's cells to become ''Super Beings''. Though Bahamut's fusion... was quite flawed.
