I remember when something similar has happened to one of the channels that I had. It was skipping, and there were no Windows error messages. It was skipping for several DAYS. Until it was fixed. It makes you wonder, what the people in the control room are doing.

Lot of them used to use a amiga for stuff like this. At least the TWC does not uses windows on there pc based systems that show LOT8

I remember how they used to use an Atari computer to display all-text weather and somebody would play a record for music during the broadcast. I remember one time when the record started skipping. They just faded it out and started a new song.

Crashes like this aren't the fault of the operating system. Poorly-coded software is.
I agree, Windows has its share of faults, and a plethora of truly dire, barely-tested programs is one of them.

Actually, a Mac would be better. Plus, in this instance it would be better for the computer to "just shut down" rather than get stuck in an annoying loop. Dead air is much better than something that makes your station look unprofessional.
