Fox News Anchor asks stupid abortion question

I just could not believe my ears when I heard the Fox interviewer's question. Essentially, she asks if less abortion = more poor people. The panelists are, obviously, taken aback. The full quote is: "If there is no federal money used to subsidize abortions for low income women, doesn't that mean that there will be more low income babies?"

The question is not stupid at all - it is quite valid. If Fed Government is not going to pay for an abortion to a low income pregnant woman and that woman then has the baby the baby will therefore be from a low income family - and the mother would then receive additional income support - which would, ironically enough cost the tax payer more than the cost of the abortion.

Regardless of whether you are for or against abortion the question is valid since it relates to the cost burden not ethics.

@xinecallaw Not really sure why you posted this reply? My comment was on the fact that the reporters question was totally valid and not stupid. I expressed no view on the rights and/or wrongs of the act of abortion.However, since you want something to think about - If a woman chooses to self induce a mis-carriage but the babies father wants to keep the baby is this an act of murder by the woman? I ask because if the man hits the woman and she then mis-carries he is guilty.

@tomburley Look man, try to put some thought into this. Abortions is not a new fad, its been around for AGES, every culture has some 'technique' that they used for it. Ingestion of poisons, jumping down a bunch of stairs, punched repeatedly in the stomach, starvation, medieval devices that kill it, or the ever so popular coat hanger technique. Low income people will most likely use any of these techniques if they cant pay for it. As long as Taxes arent spent, its NOBODIES buisness.
