@PoetryMan11 The screen in front of the microphone is to filter out poping sounds and t type sounds a singer may hit when singing. It also smooths out the edges of the sounds you may here like reaspy breathing.

I found this video, I have never seen her perform live. Here in Oz we never had huge coverage of R&B/Soul artists when I grew up, we kinda had to discover them for ourselves... What would we do without YouTube, finally after having bought Oleta's CDs all that time ago I get to see her sing one of my favorite songs...
