Providing so-called privacy and safety? No, it is fracturing a sense of community, which is the last humane experience afforded to them, and any external threat to their physical wellbeing would not have come from fellow political prisoners anyway. It is a very weak justification, in my opinion.

Some thoughts about other comments here - communism is not the antithesis of democracy, it does not treat people as disposable, and was not intended as a form of dictatorship. Get the facts right.

This happens because the people who are power have not used their Atom bombs to create a heaven on Earth and to keep the peace. They used it to scare people into submission. They lie, rob, kill, and are extremely greedy and pig ignorant. And notice how THEY don't wanna die yet they get poor people to do their bidding. And guess what ? We are dumb enough to do it. Who fights their wars for them ? US.

@1977jenna because america sees itself as the patron of the world, having army bases everywhere, even in turkey. because america gets auto-trade agreements and the possibility to sell its wares everywhere in the world, while other countries can't. america is in a special position, and these people, are asking it for help. were asking for help and i'm sure others will still further ask for america's help, believing in an america the americans themselves have long forgotten could exist.

24 million people of Kurdistan are oppressed by Turkey because they desire to read, write and speak their own language. Their freedom is locked in the ignorance, and lack of care of Americans.

I'm not so sure this is the correct way to make a statement. People die, more dying causes no changes. Dying to have communism. Amazing.
