Dear You Tube viewers

Let me share with you my challenge

A week before Christmas, I got a phone call from social services. That my grandchildren 3 at time were in custody of social services. In the state of NC there is no such thing as Grandparents rights or financial assistance. So if I said I could not take them, I would never see them again. We live in a 1783 square foot house three bedrooms and a large bonus room. We do not make a lot of money we did not have a car large enough or beds but we took them. Take in mind we have a 13 year old that we are still raising. All of these children at the time ages, 4, 3, and 9 months. My daughter also had a 18 month old already in a foster home. We opted not to take him due to his at the time failing health. About two weeks later we received another call from social services. Our other daughter had lost custody of her 17 month old. After much thought we made a quick decision to take her too. In case you are loosing count that equals 5 kids living in this house. We currently have a heavy and large pool table in our game room that would take a small miracle to move, this is where the babies sleep in two play pins. When the babies get bigger we will have a bigger dilemma. Our son currently we have opted to keep him in his own room. As it is he has sacrificed, his home parents and life as he knows it. If our current house lay out continues. It will be a 14 year old a 5 year old and a 2 year old in one room male. Then a 4 year old a two year old and a 15 month old female.

The 18 month old still in foster care. In September his case will close. The other children are distressed over maybe not seeing him again. My husband and daughter are as well. We are faced again with a tough choice. We decided to take him too. As it stands our just purchased vehicle can only transport 7 taking him to keep them together would require an 8 passenger vehicle. We receive child care and $200.00 dollars a month for all these kids. Our grocery bill is a t least 300 per week. Our utilities are traumatizing and our washer and dryer beg for mercy. My husband works for the state and I am a manager. We planned well when we bought this house it was perfect for us. Previously we did fine financially. But our finances did not plan for this. I took on a second job to try to buffer the cost this constricts and consumes more time leaving very little to tackle all the chores this many children demand.

I have look at other options such as a home that needs repairs or even a mobile home to fit everyone. After our present financial crisis our credit score has plunged. So this makes us unable to buy again. The current housing market is soft so selling is not a choice. Staying here appears to be the best choice for us. Even if we get a loan I know we could not afford the new mortgage . There are moments where I do not even know how these kids will be feed where diapers will come from etc. I am hoping to find the right company that would be willing to donate their time and money to help us keep these kids together .

I believe we have done above and beyond what most people would ever imagine. Seeing me in the store is quite the site and quite the entertainment for everyone else.
I also believe these children not only need to continue to stay in the only stable home they have known. But to have somewhat of a quality of life. I have long given up on help from the state or family, this is why I am writing to you .I understand you have so much you have allotted for your fiscal year. I also know all of the above can be used as a tax write off. So I am asking you to please consider me and my situation when you decide where those funds can be or should be allotted

It takes a village
