If you've ever worked in pen and ink before, you know how important it is to have a high quality pen. The Koh-I-Noor Rapidograph technical pen is a legendary art tool that produces consistent lines for fine illustrations and drawing. The Rotring Rapidograph pen is also a quality and versatile technical pen with a disposable ink cartridge. The products in this video can be purchased on the Blick Art Materials website at http://www.dickblick.com/products/koh-i-noor-rapidograph-pens/ and http://www.dickblick.com/products/rotring-rapidograph-pens/.

  • Is this pen good for drawing manga/anime? If not... what is the best to use for manga drawings?

  • @forgivethehated Hi! Manga and anime artists use all sorts of pens. The Koh-I-Noor are great if you are looking for a technical pen with a metal tip. These pens must be refilled with ink and cleaned occassionally. There are many felt tip pens available as well. It is best to email the Blick Product Information team to get information and assistance to find the right product for your needs. Email them at: info@ dickblick. com. Thanks!

  • @BlickVideos I will look into your suggestions. I will also email for further assistance. Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. Have a good day =]

  • @forgivethehated Thanks for watching the videos and for your questions!

  • just wanted to know what is better? blick colored pencils or prismacolor colored pencils? christmas gift idea. please someone answer

  • @tslodtslod This is a tricky question because it really comes down to personal preference. Both pencils are artist quality with lots of pigment and smooth laydown. Prismacolor are a leading brand favored by many artists. Blick brand are a great quality at a value price. You can't go wrong either way!

  • I spent more time cleaning the Koh-I-Noor than drawing with it.....To everyone out there trying technical pens I urge you to try the Rotring you dont have to clean them ever and you get the same line quality!!

  • Their gorgeous....

  • @forgivethehated Rapidographs are the classic archetypal 'technical pen', though I think in the manga industry they've been supplanted by disposable alternatives like Sakura's Pigma Micron pens for the most part. Nevertheless they are instruments of exquisite craftsmanship.

Like any technical pen, they don't fit every application; due to their constant line width they aren't favored for inking characters, but are perfect for lettering, dialogue balloons, mechanical drawing, and panel lines.

  • @AceCorona I don't know what the standard is but i'd store them point up. you'll probably have to re-prime them when you use them (shake them) but i've stored them point down and horizontal and been rewarded with a cap full of ink.

  • How should you store them? Point up or down?
