Where would you purchase this microphone?
-
did you have to purchase the wireless mic separately from the dragon software?
-
I would like to use this in class, but if I am using the mic built into my laptop (I don't want to burden the professor who may feel conscious about their every word being recroded) will the program be able to identify the main speaker? Or will other noises in the room including chit chatter and coughing disturb NaturallySpeaking's vocie recognition.

Would it be possible for me to simply use an Olympus Digital Recorder connected to a wireless microphone connected to my laptop during the in-class lecture with Nuance Dragonaturally Speaking software 11.5 to record the lecture?

It likely won't. Dragon will pick up noise and other people's voices around and make an attempt to transcribe it. Another option you can try is sitting as close as you can, but I would recommend a high quality mic. It really makes a huge difference when using Dragon.

If you are bringing your laptop to class you have options. For example, you could just ditch the digital recorder, use a mic paired with your laptop and use Dragon to transcribe on the fly. However, if your prof moves around a lot the quality could be impacted.
