The lodge isn't actually built on the beach it is built on a cliff above the beach. I have been there twice already, and it is a wonderful place to stay.
I stayed their , after it first opened for 4 nights, we got it at half price. It is a beautiful part of Australia. The swells that where rolling in crashed over the headland (Hanson bay direction) , the water formed a temporary creek that ran behind a small outcrop , then formed 2 waterfalls truly amazing to witness. Now , the assistant manager I cant remember her name was brilliant , the manager was a Sydney wanker . Still a great place to stay..
You too have no idea what you are talking about. There are no endangered species on or near this beach. And this area is still a very beautiful place, nothing has been destroyed. Maybe you need to visit and then make a statement. I've been there, and it is an awesome place that has done everything possible to protect and enhance the environment around it.
What a great way to threaten some of the unique and endanged species that live on this beach. This beach was once beautiful place, just the nature. Why cant the lodges stick to the towns on the island instead of ruining every nice place. Keep off the beach it's not the Gold Coast
