My family and I went to visit Jessica the Hippo, a friendly hippopotamus that lives in a river behind the home of her caretakers in South Africa. We petted her, fed her, and gave her sweet tea from a bottle. She was quite gentle and nice to us. There is a website about her at http://jessicahippo.com/.

  • Yes it's always helpful to tame a wild animal. Idiots.

  • They need to stop publicizing this hippo before some jackass shoots her for the hell of it.

  • Until I saw this I would've never thought that "friendly" and "hippo" could be used in the same sentence. Unless of course the sentence was "Steve was a pretty friendly guy until the hippo killed him." Amazing.

  • Jessica the Hippo will eat you and your family!!!...jk How is it possible for Hippopotami to be so badass?

  • Martyna Wojciechowska from Poland goes here

  • she's so cute!!! I actualy want a tamed Hippo for christmas now :3

  • Because the local farmers think puting up a fence is expensive.

  • Damn bastards.... If they did not want a Hippo eating their crops then put up a damn fence.

  • they didn't kill the male hippo his name was charlie, nearby farmers killed it for eating their crops. They were hoping Charlie would mate with Jessica when he was killed

  • Forgot to say great vid loved the documentary about this hippo. my wife was grinning she found it lovely.
