  • Clem Burke is an excellent drummer, he was just not given time to rehearse with the Ramones.

  • clems trying to hard

  • clem seems ok-ish, its a tad to slow for me personally, in clem burkes (elvis) defence, i dont even think even tommy could kept of kept up wid the like of marky and especially richie!! all good drummers tho :)

  • And yet... I like "Love Kills" on this one...

  • @CoudyRamone The first line up was Dee Dee on Guitar and Bass and vocals, Johnny on Guitar and Joey on drums. The band Johnny R was in before was Tangorine Puppets with Tommy Ramone.

  • @DJDansound

in first line up Dee Dee was guitar and vocals, Johnny bass

i think it was Johnny Thunders thought him to play or they learned together

first band Johnny R was in he was also a bassist (a mean one kicked some d-bag in the balls with head stock)

  • Good to hear this. I think he could have worked out if John had given him a few more days (or maybe weeks) of rehearsal - the drumming is technically great, and a studio album with him would have been interesting. He seems to not have the stamina for the stuff that is at lunatic speed, but the Ramones were always better at 80% pace (1980ish) - it got bonkers by 1986. The real problem is he clearly doesn't know the material. And the 'rock endings' - yuck. But it could have been.

  • I like Elvis, but I prefer Marky.

  • the ritchie he was talking about was ritchie stern. dee dee talks about him in end of the century. he was in the ramones when they first started but had like a breakdown in rehearsals or something like that

  • Fine. Joey was the first drummer. The Ramones started as a three peice band. Dee Dee was bass and lead singer but lost his voice so they had Joey start singing and they got there manager Tommy to play drums then he left in 1979 who was replaced by Marky then RITCHIE then Elvis then back to Markey. Sorry if I mispelled its not that big a deal if someone misspells. I am dyslexic

  • He's talking about RiTchie not Richie! Anyway I never saw any pic of him!
