A short gameplay movie of a new Wii RPG, titled Arc Rise Fantasia. The game is being developed by imageepoch (Luminous Arc and World Destruction) and published in Japan by Marvelous Entertainment (No More Heroes and Harvest Moon). Xseed games along with Marvelous USA will publish the game in North America.

Talent for the game includes:

Director - Hiroyuki Kanemaru (Tales of Symphonia)
Music Composer - Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Trigger)
Character Designer - Kenichi Yoshida (Eureka Seven)
Scenario - Takumi Miyajima (Tales of the Abyss)

The game is a turn-based RPG. There will be three-character parties, with a single AP gauge being shared by the team, which empties as various actions are performed. Multiple attacks are possible, as well as massive attacks that will drain a lot of AP. If team members use the same skills, those skills will be increased. There are also summon beasts in the game called "Roguresu".

The game is set to release in 2009.

  • Wen you encounter a monster the screen breaks and another screen shows up to show the battle... Um... Copying a certain series much? *cough* Tales *cough*

  • @boredtodeath55 Lots of games do that. Pretty common occurrence. lol

  • Oh waw it seems there are no good rpg's out there these days. The ds is at least pulling it's weight but the wii seems to be failing....honestly I haven't seen a good rpg for the wii since I bought fragile dreams some time ago.... Ps3 and 360 don't count (but even if they did, there still is only a small number left)

  • They witness a trainwreck with their own eyes, and not only dare calling it ' change',

but telling true fans to back the fuck off in the progress.

  • @demashi Indeed, the genre seems to be dying.

The future holds no RPG's if games continue to be shit, and people continue to brainlessly buy them.

Instead we will have imposters, parading as RPG's, and idiot enablers to that catastrophy will

never understand what they will have so eagerly destroyed in their utter lack of good taste, and respect

    for legendary roots.

Those are the kind of people that claim Fallout 1 and 2 are ' shit' compared to 3.

    It's insane..

  • @boredtodeath55 Basically all good RPG's have that type of animation before battle starts.

Be it breaking glass, being sucked into a void, the screen falling apart in pixel blocks, melting away,

tearing apart, exploding, imploding (and many, many more).

  • the subtitles are not english?

  • @genin234 Really? ._.

Got any other games that did that? I'd rather hear a game I've never heard of. Just cuz I want to see some new games.

  • @boredtodeath55 there are shit loads of games that do that, final fantasy did that as well...well almost all of them did that.

  • wow... the gameplay looks sweet, and it's turn-based!... and the Tales of team helped out with this game as you would be able to tell from the dialouge scenes and the screen breaking when an enemy is encountered I heard this game is great overall and the best rpg on the wii right now... I'm buying... you might want to get that cough checked out good sir

  • @SpiritSword Like wut other games?
