If guns cause crime, mine must be defective

A collection of adds about gun control. It's not about controlling guns, it's about controlling people. If we have to live in fear of thugs and criminals, we'll accept a strong police state more easily. 911 won't get there quick. Unlocking and loading my shotgun takes less than a minute.

What a bigoted statement. Do you know how many disarmed civilians were murdered by their own governments in the last century? Usually in effort to control one's population. Citizens who take responsibility for themselves are more than qualified. Rifles are democratic weapons. We are citizens, we control the government, they don't control us. Google death by gun control, you will see that governments are no more qualified.

True, but educating fence sitters is what I try to do. Shocking folks out of their complacency, their comfort zones. One of the hallmarks of progresivism is being emotionally driven. Hense all the flipfloping on issues. You can't just stuff someone into the anti gun box and discard them without finding out what their misconception is, and attempting to educate them. They may be salvageable, you may find an ally rather than an enemy.

I took a lifelong friend, who was nominally anti-Gun, to the shooting range.

At my expense, with a meal included.

I provided a high quality gun and ammo for him to shoot.

We made it an afternoon outing, no pressure, just 2 guys.

A few days later this friend asked me for advice about purchasing his own gun.

He did eventually buy 1 for himself and 1 for his wife.

They are both shooters now.

We often go to the range together..

All it took was a few hours at the range and some patient training.

@blastergas how do you respond to people who say: well while it's true states like UT VT NH and CO have virtually no gun control and are the safer states but they wouldn't have any crime regardless of gun control because of how homogeneous, rich and rural the state is? while at the same time other states that also have no gun control. TN LA AL FL AK are the most violent states? I'm not a fan of most gun control either, I'm just curious to how you would respond

aside of having the right to have and carry a gun in my state,it is very simple for me,....if someone try's to break into my place at night and i would call the cops first,it might takes them just about 5min perhaps more to get to my place,within those 5 min the person breaking in can do alot,including harm / kill me,now since i do love my life and that of my family,i rather call the cops after i took care of the person breaking in and let them know the size of the bodybag they need to bring
