All done in Blender 3d. I wanted to get a similar jump to warp that they did in the recent Star Trek film, I animated my ship in HD yesterday and I got to thank all for the compliments but sadly the ship didn't go warp cause at the time I hadn't found the results I wanted for the jump to warp, but this is the first attempted and I think its coming out lovely.

Yes the model that is used is based on the Jelly Fish that Spock uses but I wont be modeling it, I just wanted to make something simple to use as a example until I get the results I wanted, for I can then apply it to the U.S.S. Redemption.

Music from Star Trek: Music from the Motion Picture composed by Michael Giacchino, which incorporate the original series theme by Alexander Courage) and performed by the Hollywood Studio Symphony.

  • looked like when the Battlestar galactica jumps.

  • @TitanLover8011 From what I remember of Battlestar they just flash and disappear with out any reference in the direction then went in. If you talkin about the camera work I did, yeah I guess lol.

  • Good stuff. Would love to see points of reference in the background. Sometimes it's hard to tell if the camera is moving with the model, or if it's stationary and the model is the only thing moving.

  • Yeah the next test render, I'm going to add a Nebula in the background but to answer your question, the camera is stationary it only turns. Basically the camera is zoomed in on the ship and slowly zooms out as the ship gets closer and then pans as it passes by.

  • you shouldnt have made the camera shake as much as it did,

  • That's a pretty sharp effect there. I like it!

  • Can we drop this shaky camera thing?

It's about the only thing I hated about the new movie.

I get why JJ did it in Cloverfield, it was all handheld..but to go from smooth internal scenes to wobbly external ones jarred a bit.

Plus it ruined getting a good look at the sexy new ships...

I think the shaky cam will really date the movies being made with it as "early 2000's" more than anything else, in won't last.

Aside from that, great work, not attacking you personally here! Just the style!
