btw, do you beatmatch by looking at the waveforms, or by ear, or a combination of the two ? Coz i'm used to the sync function, cannot beatmatch yet, but since I wanna get myself TTs , I want to learn to beatmatch as well...

Naturally i do it by ear because i started out mixing with vinyl. But now and then I do look at the waveforms to make sure everything is tight. I also look at the waveforms so I know when the breakdowns are coming. I put markers on them so I can see them easily when they do come.
Looking at the waveforms will help you tremendously if you're learning how to beatmatch because you'll be using your hearing and sight together.

nice mix. I currently own an Xponent, but I'm planning on getting myself a DVS. I wonder if it's worth the extra cash to spend on Traktor Pro, or should I just get myself a Torq, really don't know. Also, I'm wondering if I should get technics or is anything cheaper going to "do the job" ? I'll be mixing techno & minimal, no scratching or turntablism.

I think you're doing fine with an xponent. there really is no need for turntables unless you really want to have a pair of decks. I believe you could use the xponent to control traktor pro. The xponent is basically a midi controller.
i would never recommend anything less than technics. I have used vestax decks and they are very good too but i'm partial to 1200's. I've had mine for 10 years so far and i bought them used. they are still holding up very well.

Hi! Very nice mix! I can't wait to get my Torq. I was curious about what type of rack mount effects/synth processor you are using? It sounds really nice when you tweak on the knobs.

I'm using an Electrix Filter Factory for my filter sweeps. For the loops I'm using a PVDJ Grabber DJ sampler.
V 1.5 has finally been released; so major improvements have been made. I recommend it if you're on a budget and want a quality dvs system.
