The wiggle tool is one of AE's most versatile and useful features, but many people wonder if they can wiggle one position dimension - X, Y or Z - independently of the others. Or wiggle X, Y & Z at difference frequencies and magnitudes. Well, you can, using the pretty simple expressions I describe in this vid.

  • How can you tell it to play the wiggle from time x to time y ?

  • You need to animate the wiggle using a slider expression control. If you google "wiggle slider control", you may get something useful.

  • hey i have the program but i dont seem to have the wiggler do you know were i can get it?

  • I believe the wiggler is only available in the pro version of the programme. The standard version lacks it.

  • do you know if theirs any plug ins for it?

if so can you tell me were i can get it..

  • There aren't any plugins for it. Even if you get hold of the effect file your version of AE won't recognise it. You would need to upgrade.

  • After effects warning: Class 'global' has no property or method named 'a'

  • Thanks for the tut, I'm using this today at my job!

  • Loved IT!

  • Thanks! Very well explained :)

  • Thanks a lot!! Realy useful!!

  • why can't they just make the wiggle effect where you DON'T HAVE TO TYPE EXPRESSIONS! ugh i hated math in high school, i stink at logic, and no matter how much i try at this i still have the hardest time grasping it. it's rather discouraging :(
