Five men who took part in an early morning sulky race on the main Cork to Limerick road have been jailed in Cork District Court.

The five, who pleaded guilty to a number of charges including dangerous driving, were named as Patrick O'Brien, 25, of Woodford, Rossa Avenue, Bishopstown and James O'Brien, 28, of Inishannon Road, Fair Hill, Cork.

Daniel Stokes, 46 and Christopher Roche, 41, both of Knocknaheeny halting site and Bernie McDonagh, 20, Nash's Boreen halting site, Cork.
