I once put together a chart or Color Mixing Gauge one could use to help them mix color. It's like a ruler, but helps you to mix 4 parts Color to 1 part color B and so forth. When we create paintings, we need to record what our colors are so we can re-create them all of the time, and consistently.

Hi Darrell, If you are using acylics, how long should you wait to paint on canvas after applying Gesso coats.

@stephenm28 About 20 minutes. When the gesso is dry, you can proceed.

I'm just starting, isn't gesso just a ceiling paint? Can sealing paint (cheaper) be used instead?

@AussieGuy53 You can use any kind of interior wall paint instead of Gesso. But I would suggest flat over gloss. You don't need the gloss
