Pete Cook - 1968 July album songwriter, musician, guitar maker to world renownd rock bands, and Tom Newman Chris Jackson and Alan James have reformed the Tomcats(July) early this year 2009 and produced a vindaloo shit hot rock album prospectively to release by the end of this year. These guys still have even more rock music blood flowing through their veins. These guys come from a legendary rock era and still have it. I know coz Pete was round for dinner the other day. Rock on lads!!

I went to school with some of these guys, they were our local "group".
Still in touch with the drummer Chris.
Yes its the same Tom.
They also had a hook up with Patrick Campbell Lyons. Later of Nirvan (UK)

I just threw Sloop John on the turntable and I hear the similarities. Certainly, PET SOUNDS would have rocked their world almost two years before this track was recorded. And continuing with the boating motif.
When I heard it, I always thought of this Daniel Johnston song off of HI! How Are You? -- the same exact riff -- or a bass line from The Ronettes.
