Audiosurf: Jonathan Coulton - Code Monkey (Instrumental)

Ahrgh! I finally found it!

Thanks to this guy I know (I'm not gonna name him for privacy sakes), he actually found the multitrack remix kit online. Thanks man!

The main point of the video was to test whether my FRAPS would work well enough so that I could edit videos from game footage. It worked, although there are a few bumps and hiccups (frame-rate drops, need a faster computer)

Anyways, using the remix kit and Adobe Audition 3.0, I managed to crank out this shitty instrumental. The guitar parts in the kit were separated into different parts (ie. Chorus, Bridge, Verses) so I had to do some tweaking to get them in their perspective parts. Everything else was smooth as butter. Used Audio-Surf to visualize the song and make the video more interesting (it's a freaking instrumental, what do you expect?). Recorded in FRAPS and edited with Ulead Video Studio Pro X2.

Jonathan Coulton is a person of great interest to everyone. He also wrote the ending theme for Portal (you should know it's title by now). The modern day troubadour (well, I wouldn't say that, since it implies that he sings love songs or something, it's just a fancy word for me) can be found here:

Audio-Surf is a great independent game that uses music as it's levels. I will honestly tell you that I had the game pirated before, but as of: Thursday January 1st 2009, I bought the full retail version of the game (it was Steam Holiday Weekend Sale, $5.99, awesome time to get it, also got Doom 2 for .99 cents, hehe). This footage was filmed with the retail version, not the shitty pirated version I had before. Anyways, you can find the game here:

@SDKExile Haha! As for the actual game play, I'm pretty bad at Audiosurf. Maybe I can get good runs in Ninja Mono, but I can't get earth shattering high scores.

I too have multitracks for most of Jonathan Coulton popular songs, since someone decided to upload the contents of the USB drive that he gave away for charity for that one Creative Commons event. Hell, I would have bought that thing myself and get a cool t-shirt as a bonus.

The beauty of Creative Commons and the artists who use it, makes me wish more musicians would give away their multitracks, haha.

I've noticed that too, but then thought "Well he has to make these songs up and record them within a week, so I guess I can let this slide." I've also noticed that Re: your brains sounds alot like one weezer song that I can't remember the name of.

@Xusder Oh, that's cool! Multi-tracks are so awesome. Haha The mutitracks acapella of "Re: Your Brains" isn't the actual one because the synth tracks is mixed in with it, but I did find the studio acapella of the song on an Acapella website. I want to try to make a remix of the song using the multi-tracks.
