This is a a rip-off of my original recording of "This Sporting Life" which reached the Billboard Hot 1OO in early 1965. Mickey Finn's management tried to claim copyright in England but we stopped them. My record was released months before this bad cover by Mr Finn, produced by Shel Talmy (in 1965). He should have known better. My original is up on YouTube in two versions. It is of course a new version of the old folk song.

Sporting Life Blues -- no one really knows who wrote the old song....but here's a skiffle group doing it too -- just plug in Ken Colyer - Skiffle Group - Sporting Life...and then there's Clapton and Cale, of course.....oh my goodness....the darn song is all over the place, likely thanks to Brownie McGhee......gotta love the blues, and Ian was a major blues fan -- and now plinks his ukulele....on and on it goes...

@ianwhitcomb Ian I take your point, you are the king. But this is not a "bad cover", it does something different to a brilliant song from what you did to it (you did it with wit, this dude does it with intensity and the 60s dance vibe from the organ) and he doesn't sing badly.
